Comparison between three Literary Genres
There are many Modern Literary Genres that presently used by 21st Century writers. Including Illustrated Novel, Digi-Fiction, Graphic Novel, Manga, Doodle Fiction, Text-Talk Novels, Chick Lit (Chick Literature), Flash Fiction, Six-Word Flash Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction, Science Fiction, Blog, & Hyper-Poetry.
These 13 mentioned genres has differences and similarities in terms of structure and elements. But I listed three common Modern Literary Genres; Doodle Fiction, Manga, & Graphic Novel.

📕 Doodle Fiction
Literary presentation where the author incorporates doodle writing, drawings, and handwritten graphics in place of traditional font.
Drawing enhances the story, often adding humorous elements that would be missing if the illustrations were omitted which makes Doodle Fiction different from other literary genres.
Examples include:

- Timmy Failure by Stephen Pastis
📗 Manga
Manga is the Japanese word for comics and all comic books and graphic novels originally published in Japan.
The iconicity makes it accessible and easily decodable to individuals across globe. Manga is considered as an artistic and storytelling style.
Traditionally, Manga stories are read from left to right and from top to bottom, in the same way as Japanese writing.
Different kinds of Manga identified by intended readers: Shonen (Boy's Manga), Shojo (Girl's Manga), Seinen (Men's Manga), Josei (Woman's Manga), & Kodomo (Children's Manga).

📘 Graphic Novel
A Graphic Novel is a longer more complex piece of text that usually covers the storyline in one book. It uses the interplay of text and illustrations in a comic-strip format to tell a story. Instead to relying on just text to construct a narrative, it uses graphical elements such as panels, frames speech/thought balloons, etc. in a sequential way to create and evoke story in a reader's mind.
Examples include:
- Archie Comics by John Goldwater and illustrator, Bob Montana
As we've seen in the definitions and examples above, we can see that there are similarities and differences between the three literary genres; Doodle Fiction, Manga, and Graphic Novel.
The similarities of the three are; (1) they are artistic and storytelling style to show stories, in comics format. (2) stories is told using a picture and words across pages. While on the other hand, the three also have their own differences. The Doodle Fiction often adding humorous elements that would be missing if the illustrations were omitted. Then, the Manga, the iconicity makes it accessible and easily decodable to individuals across globe. Traditionally, Manga stories are read from left to right and from top to bottom.
